Mabry Mill, off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Meadows of Dan. An absolutely beautiful spot that draws a lot of photographers, and meandering visitors! Working mill, gift shot, restaurant. A nice stop on your travels.

Hopewell Riverwalk. The Boardwalk is a really nice and relaxing meander along the banks of the Appomattox River.

Fort Monroe. Historic, interesting and some nice hiking while you roam from one site to another. The Lincoln Gun is very interesting, as is the pet cemetery. And the Casemate Museum is worth an hour or so.
